30 photosAbout Cars In Games
In the real world, the automobile is emotionally charged. It is a means of transport, a commercial vehicle, but also a cult object, an individually designed living space — a personal refuge — an expression of individuality and freedom, a collector’s item, a symbol. Naturally — i would assume — all of this is transferred to the virtual space.

Virtual worlds in computers are, in themselves, an abstraction of the real world. Often, the aim is to achieve as much realism as possible. The abstraction becomes greater when the number of polygons is reduced. Geometry already contains the graphic and abstract elements, so structure and texture are simulated like everything else. This is a loose collection of virtual photographs in which I work (mostly) with this abstraction of an abstraction. This is a sketchpad. I don’t yet know what the final outcome will be - as mostly :-)
9 photosForza!
Car races are fast and loud. The cars and their drivers take centre stage. What remains when the focus is no longer on the presentation of the car?
15 photosGeometric Realms
This is my playground for photographicaly surreal moments in computer games.
28 photosQuiet Places In Computergames
During my journeys through the world of computer games, I’ve noticed that I always photograph a very special place. I have no idea why. Perhaps it seems particularly absurd to me in the virtual world, but as a symbol it contributes significantly to the credibility of the game world.
36 photosSimulacrum
In the Simulacrum series, I combine photographs from the real world with photographs from the virtual worlds of computer games. The question is: What is truth anymore? What is real? AI increasingly blurres the line between what is real and what is not, We can trust our eyes less and less. This series moves along the boundary of „real“ and „not so real“ - celebrates the differences - and attempts to find new stories by juxtaposing both spaces.
61 photosSitting In Computergames
Computer games are designed for dynamism and action. However, they also involve a surprising amount of sitting around. In this series, I explore the art of sitting around in computer games.
40 photosStories From The Void
Binary Voids Volume Zero - Combining the photographs from the different virtual worlds to create new stories. The whole thing will soon be available as a book .
18 photosThe Glitch Momentum
As we all know, there is no such thing as perfect, flawless software, no matter how hard you try. That’s why there are always those tense moments when the carefully staged immersion - the impression of reality - in the game is interrupted.
24 photosThe Incident And Other Circumstances
You can deliberately provoke them and exploit them photographically, but sometimes they just happen and you have to react quickly to capture them. Let’s see what kind of series finally comes out of this basic idea.
